THE SECOND PART #3
(Weston, Ontario, CANADA)
"In her introduction to this zine, Teri comments that "Most of the pieces in this zine are pretty long. I'm at a point in my writing where I want to focus on writing longer articles and stories." The impression created by Teri's longer pieces is startling and effective; she talks around a topic or a theme, providing small anecdotes, memories, and thoughts that combine to create an effect that is not so much an argument as it is a mood or feeling. The result is that each article is greater than the sum of its parts. Her skill with this style of writing is best demonstrated in her opening piece on Greece, where her wandering attention and series of vignettes create an atmosphere that wonderfully evokes the feel of that country. Her pieces on pet deaths, driving, and summer are almost as effective. A lovely zine by a writer with a great eye for detail, and a talent for structuring a piece of writing."
